Description:
The student will become familiar with the pathophysiology, diagnosis, application of endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and interventional) and treatment of diseases of the alimentary tract. As an integral member of the clinical team, the student will evaluate patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases on hospital inpatient services and in the gastroenterology ambulatory clinic. The student will attend and participate in teaching rounds, clinical and research conferences, teaching conferences (e.g., pathology, surgical and radiology) and literature review sessions.
